OK, it feels surreal to be writing this. I never in a million years dreamed that I would have a day on location to write about. But, due to some divine intervention, I had the opportunity to be on location today. I took my 8 year old daughter with me also, which turned out to be a great thing as you will see later in my post. I didn't expect much of today to be honest. I would have been happy seeing the Summitt signs and trailers! :D And, as I was driving up this morning I even thought, "I wonder if I would have anything worthy of a new thread". I promply laughed at myself. I just DON'T have that kind of luck. So... here it goes.

We got there at about 8:00. As I drove up to the location, I didn't see any signs. I started to get worried that they were not there when we saw the trailers. My daughter actaully squeeled, and my jaw was in my lap. I was sooooo excited now. We parked and started walking. I was assuming that there would be lots of observers there, but there wasn't anyone besides the crew getting all set up. No one really paid any attention to us, so we just walked around and tried to observe without being obvious. It was raining and cold and my daughter started complaining. We went back to the car and I am thinking to myself.... "this is going to be a long day". But, she finally warmed up, and we went back up to where we supposed they were going to be shooting. As we got up there, who should be walking not 15 feet from us, but EDWARD!! He had his personal umbrella holder with him and walked fast into the greenhouse. It was so thrilling to just see him in person, I can't even tell you. Not 5 min. later, out walk Jasper and Alice!!! I couldn't really even breath to be honest. They looked amazing. And, I just have to add that anyone who still has reservations about Jaspers hair needs to stop worrying. It looked AMAZING, like I wanted to touch it. He was adorable. He looked over at us several times and smiled. ***swoon***.

One of the crew came over to us and started telling us what was going on. They were putting a fabric screen over the top of the greenhouse because the sun kept coming out. He was explaining that and some other stuff. He said he didn't understand why anyone would come and stand in the rain to see "something so boring". I am sure he was talking about the process of reshooting stuff over and over, but I tried to explain it to him and, he didn't get it. But, he was really nice. He told us that we could go into the greenhouse and that noone would even notice. But, I am to big a chicken. Only cast had gone in, and I didn't want to be disrespectful and get thrown out or something. So, he told us to stand over by this tree to get out of the wind. It was a bit closer, so we did. Just then the guy that seemed to be in charge yelled at me..."You are in the shot... you can't stand there!" I felt like I was the kid getting in trouble in the middle of the class. The crew all stared (they were not shooting, just rehearsing, but still, I felt terrible). The in charge man came over and said, "if you promise not to take any pictures, or ask for autographs, I will let you stay right here", and had us stand 10-15 feet from where the kids would be coming out of the greenhouse. Of course, I promised. I did have my camera with me, but to be honest, I was so close that I would have felt stupid pulling it out. And, once I had told him I wouldn't take any pictures, I could just sit back and enjoy it.

So, there we are, very close to the set, and still the only observers that I can see. We saw Alice and Jasper multiple times. They are very cute and interacted so great with each other. I just can't get over how cute Jasper was! OME!! Or should I say OMJ!!! :D Edward came out several times as well. His smile is awesome in person. Wow!!! Then, Bella came onto the set. She is so tiny! Holy cow! We saw her a few times, but she seemed very shy.

A bit later, we were sitting on a bench and the rest of the Forks kids came out. It was the first time I had seen them. Everyone was there. Mike, Eric, Taylor, Jessica?. It was so cool to see them. My daughter and I are STILL the only observers there, and Michael (Welch) makes eye contact and waves to us. My daughter was so excited. (Me too). THEN, he came over to us and shakes my hand and says, "Hi, I"m Michael. How are you doing?" Then he sat down on the bench with us and started chatting. He asked our names and thanked us for coming. I asked him if he was having fun shooting the film, and he grinned really big and said, "Yea, it is awesome!" He asked me if we knew anyone on the cast. I smiled and said, "well, I do NOW". And, we both had a good laugh! He was sooooooooooo great! So down to earth. He was asking another question to my daughter when they called him back to set. He was so gracious and apologized that he couldn't chat longer. I have to say that this was a GREAT moment! My daughter was speechless, and I was so impressed with him. His mother did a fine job, and would have been so proud.

The sun kept coming out, and everything would stop. At one point, everyone was outside with nothing going on. In my mind I was thinking what great pix I would have if I could just take some. We were so close to everything. But, I gave my word, and I am VERY obedient! So, sorry to say, there are no pictures to go with my story, but I have great ones in my memory, as does my daughter. Everyone on the crew was nice to us. We got to stay up front and center all morning. I got to meet lynds and hang out with her when she got there. She is so nice and so so pretty! At about 1:00 a bunch of people suddenly showed up and they moved us all back a long ways. :(

Then.... Kristin comes out of the green house and walks right past us to go do the MTV interview. We couldn't hear anything she was saying, and by now the security is taking measures to make sure no one gets close. Then Rob came out and joined her for the interview. I was wishing I had bionic woman hearing at that point. I caught bits and pieces, but nothing really. I did hear Rob say something about Edward's and Bella's first kiss. :D They were talking to the MTV guy for a long time, like 25-30 min. Rob also did some interview by himself. Then Rob came over to a group of "Press" people and was talking to them. I could hear his English accent. He was close enough now to make out some of what he said. He told them that he loved Oregon and thought it was beautiful. :D

By this time my daughter has had it and is begging to go home. I told her, "I am not leaving when Edward is so close!" I do have to say that she was a trooper and stayed without complaining to much for about 6 hours. With the security tightened so much, we did leave as soon as Edward was called back to set. And, I didn't know how I would explain myself to the Doctor my daughter got sick from standing out in the rain all day. "So sorry, but EDWARD was there!"

Interesting side note... when we came out of the bathroom we were walking down the sidewalk and one of the crew was doing something to the side of the school bus. I walked by and it said, "Quillutte School District". COOL. Lynds was going to try and get a pix of that. I don't know why I thought it was so cool, but I did!

Anyway.. just the BEST DAY EVER!!!!!

Thanks for sharing your story. What a fun day that would of been. Cool of the "in charge" guy to let you stay. I thought they were done with all of the outside shots? I am excited to see the whole thing put together in December. Wonder when the MTV interview will be shown?
